A Week of Need
This week has been particularly full of those who are hurting and need help.
What a pain!
Seriously, it is so much easier to claim to be a friend (pardon the pun) and family when people meet our needs, but when others are in need...?
There is an old story of a description of Hell. There exists a table of food and everyone who comes to the table has four-foot long untensils attached to their arms. Try as they might, they never are able to get the food into their mouths, and are frustrated, hungry and miserable. The story continues that in Heaven there is also a table of luscious food and everyone who comes to the table has identical four-foot long untensils attached. However, in Heaven's case each one uses what they have to feed others, and all are well fed, satisfied and in deep relationship with each other.
I challenge you to think this week not about showing up to your relationships with your body of needs, but instead ask yourself (and our Living Christ) how you can meet someone elses.
